East of the River resident, Shahidah Nicole Hamlett will participate in this year's Anacostia 5K as a run buddy and cheerleader to support her two daughters. After running last year's event, she said, "I think I had more fun than the girls". Shahidah organizes weekly meet-ups for Black Girls Run! every Sunday in Fairlawn SE. I joined in on one meet-up that offered up a great variety of walkers, joggers and sprinters.
