Northeast Groovers: Rails to Trails Yoga Workshop

Northeast DC comes alive for an outdoor Soulful Flow Yoga workshop on Saturday, June 16 from 10am-12pm. I will be teaching an all levels yoga class for the Edgewood community on Yoga, Nature and Stress Reduction organized by the Rails to Trails Conservancy.

The Rails to Trails Conservancy is taking on the task of getting people, mainly black people, to take advantage of nature in their neighborhood.
Metro Branch Bike/Walk Trail in Northeast DC
According to Rails to Trails, most urban neighborhoods in DC have a nature trail. But most people don't know or don't care to use these trails. The Urban Pathways Initiative is trying to change things by getting people off the couch and onto the trail. The organizers hosted a Trail Expo on June 2, 2012 to connect the trail to the community!

I offered a yoga demo in Edgewood Northeast DC where passersby stopped off for a quick post-trail relaxation.

Bicycle Space tuned up bikes for free.

Come and enjoy yoga, healthy snacks, nature and learn how to avoid the pitfalls of  stress, or else you'll end up looking like this guy.
